OliveAdverts – PayPal Removed

It’s a few day old news that the OliveAdverts admin’s 12 year old PayPal account was closed therefore the site discontinues to use PayPal. The remaining payment methods are Payza, Perfect Money and Bitcoin. Payeer, OKPay were recently added.

Fortunately, the site has some funds reserved outside of the PayPal account, but it does not cover all the costs, therefore the admin offers a deal:

  • Members, who deposited mostly via PayPal, must add funds in total 30% of their PayPal purchases via another payment processor they wish to use. After doing this, they can withdraw to that particular payment processor.
  • Free members can still withdraw, but the maximum amount of withdrawals will be limited to a certain amount per day, based on the site’s income. This restriction will be lifted once the site’s cash flow is stable and they are able to pay everyone within a reasonable time frame again.
  • Members, who can’t use other payment processor than PayPal, should send a support ticket. The admin will deal with each person on a case-by-case basis.

You can decide if you live with the offer or not. The admin has no bad track record (at least not known) and he seems to be committed to his site and willing to solve the problem. On the other hand, keep it mind that only a few PTC sites survived PayPal limitation and we don’t know the exact circumstances of the limitation. Please remember, that if you deposit via other processors (other than Payza), you have no chance to get your money back if anything goes wrong.

You can read the details in the OliveAdverts forum here.
